Allag and the use of (Magi)tech. A Romantcism/Enlightement debate
Okay some preface: The game and franchise in genral has been typiclay Fantasy oriented, that said several Science Fiction elements cropped up early (paraellel Worlds in III, Prominent use of technology in VI, Cyberpunkish elements in VII, Machina in X, along modern entertainment, and Time travel in XIII-2) and certain games have became more of an equal mix of Science Fiction and Fantasy as a result. Considering the juxtaposition of magic, Mythical Creatures, Medieval Trappings and Swords, with technology, aliens, The Allagan Empire's aesthetics (and Allag in general) and Firepower, This game is in one of the FF titles in both Sci-Fi and fantasy genres
With this in mind, historically speaking, these had been two conflicting ideologies that ese two are associated with, Romanticism, which focuses on emotion, nature and human individuality, and Enlightenment which focuses on society as a whole, Technology and Intelligence. And the two genres are related to one of the two (though you can find Enlightenment Fantasy and Romanticist Sci-Fi, in fact certain genres like Cyberpunk are inspired by the ideology conflicting with the one associated with its parent)
The two primary sources of Magiteck are two: The Allagin empire, which seems to be the Mad Scientist's counterpart to Rapture and the Garlean Empire which are the current antagonist (With the only source of modern Eorzean Magitech being a defector)
On the other hand, the CT subplot seem to have an Enlighented take on the story (Despite Unei and Doga's exposition apparently revealing that the Allagins are the logical conclusion to the Crystal Spires and Togas utopia common in faction nowadays, which seems to be Romanticists) and The plot of heavenward amounts to removing a theocrctic ruler (though it is still unclear if the theorcratic system will stay in place) as well as a slaying the dragon-alien who is controlled by his emotions and rendered unreasonable and irrational (and uses an emotional window in a rather stoic character to make him the vessel of his rebirth)
Lastly there are the Existence of Primals, supernatural beings capable of enthralling others and strip them of all reason and will, except the will to serve their new master at all cost.
With all that *and other factors) in mind, I'd like to ask if you think the metaplot of the game, certain subplots, or factions/groups are Romanticist or Elightened? (and that you'd refrain from flaming, Just because this is about two ideologies doesn't not mean vitriolic arguments are welcome here)

FFXIV Heavensward: I like the idea of branching classes like summoner and scholar
Try not to add in too much to each skill, nor make it complicated to execute while performing the jobs mechanics. If ever you'd like some assistance or feedback feel free to ask and I would be happy to help.

Abilities be capable of consuming Tactical Points for bonus effect?
I'd probably tune Tactical Points costs to be higher but regeneration to also be faster while keeping the rest of the existing system intact. As for bonuses, you could give jobs like NIN a combo bonus to enhance TP regeneration to further play into this.

FFXIV Idea: Lets play Hide&Seek!
But even though we share the general trauma about having to find a moogle a friend an I came up with an idea for a "mini"-game - I know its most likely never gonna happen, but I wanted to share it at least!

Thoughts On Live Letter Crafting Changes
There wasn't much shared in regards to the future of Crafting from the Live Letter (Not really surprised to be honest) however what WAS shared could have major implications on Crafting Progression and how Crafted gear is treated as a whole

As a whole FF 14 is more understanding and a higher quality of person
I logged out of wow and have not been back into that game since. I pray that wow does not lose a lot of subs and that those people do not come here. As a whole FF 14 is more understanding and a higher quality of person and I love my community and hope that we never start down the path of wow
