Final Fantasy XIV Astrologian is in a good position right now
With a bit more experience under my belt more I think I can give my impression of the astrologian job.
The job plays real fluid and is both fun and powerful on Cree you get use to the job.we are not scholars that can stay in cleric stance longer not are we white mages that can burst heal to incredible levels on the demand. We are for the most part though complete and do not need any buffs.
I am able to hold my own in all raids and on savage one so far.my static only raids 6 hours a week so our progression is going to be slower then some people the only issue left with this job is our kicked out of both stances once in combat, shuffle and out two near useless cooldown abilities. Collective and opposition are truly weak cooldowns that prevent us from dealing with major mistakes like the other two healers have cooldowns for. I hope they redo opposition to not be a near 3 minute (stun useless?) which is only useful for upping the ticks of duirnal or aether self buff. Collective Con forcing the Astrologian to pretty much do nothing for 18 seconds is something else that should be looked at.
200 potency regen is not enough to warrant our job being froze for near 18 seconds. Maybe allow it to turn our aspected ben into a super powered version of our spells during the cooldown like a % bump in the shield while it is up or up the regen. Shuffle being able to draw the same card at once is another small issue the job faces. If they would retool shuffle to no longer pull the same card you just pulled it would immensely fix alot of the range issues tied to the draw mechanic.
Opposition is a prime ability that should be reworked to let the astrologian trully shine on its advantage and that is its versatility. Being able to shift stances in mid combat would allow the Astrologian to respond to emergency issues that some people have issues with being our weakness.
But overall the astrologian is FAR FAR from being underpowered and are easily strong enough to do all content in the game and provide a great deal of buffs to raid groups and I know if people will give the Astrologian job a chance they will find the Astrologian does carry its own weight in every dungeon and raid in this game.

As for my choice of Topaz, that's for two simple reasons. It doesn't die everytime a couple of Final Fantasy XIV AoEs get thrown my way, and it serves as an emergency back up should the tanks prove incompetent, suddenly DC

On ps4 it's easier to switch between the bars. There really is no need for the feature for us. Due to how to reach those bars being so extra

Kendo It cost's nothing. deals decent single target damage. require's good combo's get good amount of TP. note your also a Melee DPS/Support hybrid so you can place debuffs or dots that benefit your other team.
